Pregnant women are at a higher risk of getting sick from the flu and experiencing severe complications.

During pregnancy, a woman's immune system undergoes changes that make it harder to fight off infections, including the flu. Additionally, the flu can lead to serious complications for both the mother and her unborn baby.

It is recommended that all pregnant women get a flu vaccination during flu season (typically October through May). The flu vaccination is safe for pregnant women and can protect both the mother and her baby. It is important to get the flu shot every year, as the flu virus changes from year to year.

Get vaccinated and get winter strong!

Contact your registered practice and ask your midwife how to book your Flu and Covid 19 vaccination.
